| In co-operation with our partner Lyngso Marine, Bond Instrumentation can offer a range of control and monitoring equipment for marine applications. Using the standard Lyngso building block basis a control system can be designed to meet customer specifications for new buildings, conversions and retrofits. Where equipment is required to replace obsolete relay based logic systems Bond can offer alternative approved P.L.C. equipment to provide the same functions with reduced space requirement, lower power drain and increased reliability. | The remote electronic control for a B & W KLM80 main engine was found to be obsolete and beyond economical repair. A replacement P.L.C. based system was designed by Bond Instrumentation and approved/tested by the Classification Society in under four weeks. The system was installed on the vessel during alongside cargo discharging and extensive sea trials confirmed all control functions were as per specification. | ![]() |

An existing electromechanical relay system for remotely controlling eight diesel generator sets was obsolete and unreliable. Using an approved P.L.C., Bond Instrumentation designed, built, installed and commissioned a replacement equipment which required around 50% less space and used 20% less electrical power. Each machine has its own dedicated P.L.C. which provides control and safety functions, a common P.L.C. monitors the overall system and ensures the power demand is met when required.

A fire caused extensive damage to the control equipment and cabling in the engine room of an offshore supply vessel. Bond Instrumentation designed, built, installed and commissioned a replacement control and monitoring system during the eight weeks the vessel was alongside for repairs. In the same period the pneumatic controls for the four propulsion engines were overhauled and checked with all systems thoroughly tested during extensive sea trials.
